The Plastic Bank set out to stop the rising tide of plastic polluting our oceans by connecting people with recycling facilities to raise the value of discarded plastic. With the help of IBM and IBM Business Partner Cognition Foundry, it created a blockchain solution to securely pay people via their phones in exchange for the plastic they collect.
